New Beta 0.4.154.29 Available

Tuesday, December 2, 2008 | 11:42 AM

We've just released Google Chrome version 0.4.154.29. Over the next few days, you'll get automatically updated. For those of you who can't wait, you can also update on demand.

This release upgrades Gears to 0.5.4.2 to address a security issue with Gears 0.5.4.0 and earlier versions. This release also contains a fix to stop crashes while dragging tabs on computers running Windows Vista.

All the details are outlined in our Release Notes blog. As always, let us know in the Help Forum if you have any issues with this latest build. Thanks for all your help and contributions!

I understand that basic security and stability (no crash) issues must be first on the priority Chrome dev list, but might it help the customer masses (especially around holiday season) to just give an official comment about the possible ETA of AutoFill and other must have IE/Firefox Google Toolbar features not in Chrome beta now. You may be turning away many users for good who don't quite understand that early beta may mean "not done feature sets"...just let people know that these specific features WILL BE ADDED at some future date (maybe 2009 some time).
